What happened
The game moved on. Your settings did not.
The update gave crosshairs their own settings tab, added shapes like static square and dot only, and switched the sizing to real pixels so a crosshair keeps its shape when you change resolution. Codes written under the old system no longer import, which is why CS2 answers “Invalid or old crosshair code” when you paste one.
Rebuilding a crosshair by eye takes a while and rarely lands on what you had. This converter reads your old code, works out the same crosshair in the new sizing, and hands you a code plus the console commands.
Questions
Why did my CS2 crosshair code stop working?
The September 2026 update rebuilt how CS2 stores crosshairs. Codes made before it use the older layout, so the game turns them down with “Invalid or old crosshair code”. Your settings are fine. The code just speaks the previous version.
Will this give me the exact same crosshair?
Close, and usually indistinguishable. CS2 changed from measuring a crosshair against your screen height to measuring it in pixels, so the numbers move even when the shape does not. Pick your resolution above and the result matches what you had.
Do I need to pick the right resolution?
It helps. The converter sizes your crosshair for the resolution you play at. CS2 rescales after that on its own, so a crosshair built for 1080p stays proportional if you switch to 1440p later.
Where do I paste the new code?
In CS2, open Settings, then the Crosshair / Scopes tab, then Share or Import. Paste the code there. You can also drop the console commands into your autoexec.
Does this work for pro player crosshair codes?
Yes. Any code from before the update converts the same way, including ones you copied from a pro settings list or an old video description.
Is my old code still stored anywhere?
Nothing you paste is saved. The conversion runs in your browser and the code never leaves it.
