How to Use the CS2 Crosshair Generator
This crosshair generator lets you create a custom CS2 crosshair with a real-time live preview. Adjust size, thickness, gap, color, opacity, outline, and dot settings using the controls above, then copy the generated console commands directly into your CS2 autoexec or paste them into the in-game developer console.
Style settings control the overall shape of your crosshair. The classic style (style 4) is the most popular among competitive players because it provides a static crosshair that does not expand during movement or shooting. Style 5 offers a dynamic crosshair that expands based on your movement and weapon inaccuracy, which can help newer players understand when their shots will be accurate.
Color and visibility are crucial for competitive play. Most professional CS2 players use green (RGB 0, 255, 0) or cyan (RGB 0, 255, 255) crosshairs because these colors contrast well against the dark environments common in CS2 maps like Dust2, Mirage, and Inferno. The outline option adds a black border around your crosshair, improving visibility on bright surfaces like sky or white walls.
You can also import existing crosshairs by pasting console commands, or use the randomize button to discover new configurations. Once you are happy with your crosshair, use the copy button to get the full command string, then paste it into your CS2 console (open with the tilde key ~) to apply it immediately.
Choosing the Right Crosshair for Your Playstyle
Your crosshair choice should complement your playstyle. Entry fraggers and aggressive players often prefer smaller crosshairs with a center dot for precise flick shots. AWPers typically use a simple dot or very small crosshair since the scope handles most aiming. Lurkers and support players may prefer slightly larger crosshairs for better visibility during site holds and spray transfers.
If you are unsure where to start, browse our pro player crosshair collection to see what settings professional CS2 players use in tournaments. You can import any pro's crosshair directly into this generator and tweak it to your preference.
CS2 crosshair console commands explained
Every control in this generator maps to a console command you can paste straight into CS2. Here is what each one does.
cl_crosshairsizeLength of each crosshair line. Most players run between 1 and 3. Smaller reads as more precise, larger is easier to track.
cl_crosshairthicknessHow thick the lines are. 0.5 to 1 covers most setups. Thicker shows up better on busy backgrounds but hides more of your target.
cl_crosshairgapSpace between the center and the lines. Negative values pull them in tight, which most riflers prefer for spraying.
cl_crosshairdotAdds a center dot. Set it to 1 to turn it on. Useful for tap shooting and lining up pixel-tight angles.
cl_crosshair_drawoutlineDraws a black outline so the crosshair stays readable on light surfaces like Mirage palace or the Dust2 skybox.
cl_crosshairstylePicks the behavior. Style 4 is the static classic crosshair the pros use. Style 5 expands as you move and shoot.
Crosshair settings the pros use
There is no single best crosshair, but the pros cluster around the same habits: small, static, high contrast. A few to start from before you make it your own.
s1mple
Cyan dot on the classic static style, very small. He leans on the dot for flicks.
ZywOo
Green classic style, tight gap, no dot. Compact and high contrast on every map.
donk
Cyan static crosshair, slightly chunkier with a negative gap for spray control.
NiKo
Green with a black outline, built to stay visible while holding angles.
m0NESY
Minimal green setup that stays out of the way for both AWP and rifle.
Crosshair generator FAQ
What is the best crosshair color in CS2?
Green and cyan work for most players because they pop against CS2's darker maps. Yellow is a solid third. The only rule that matters is picking a color your eye finds instantly on every map, then leaving it alone.
What crosshair do CS2 pros use?
Almost all of them run a small static crosshair on style 4, often with a center dot and a tight or negative gap. The exact numbers differ per player. Copy any of them from our pro crosshair collection and adjust from there.
How do I import a crosshair code into CS2?
Open the console with the tilde key, or go to Settings, then Crosshair, then Share or Import. Paste a code that starts with CSGO- and it applies right away. This generator also takes pasted console commands if you would rather build from an existing setup.
Should I use a static or dynamic crosshair?
Static (style 4) is what nearly every competitive player uses, because the crosshair holds still and teaches you real spray and recoil control. Dynamic (style 5) expands as you move and shoot, which can help a brand new player learn when shots land, but most people grow out of it quickly.
Does my crosshair actually affect my aim?
Not directly. A crosshair does not change where bullets go. It changes how clearly you can place your aim and read recoil, which is why a clean crosshair you never think about beats a flashy one.
Can I use my CS:GO crosshair in CS2?
Mostly yes. CS2 uses the same crosshair code format as CS:GO, so old codes import fine. Colors can look a little different under the new lighting, so check it in game and tweak the outline or color if it washes out.
