Four coverts, two collections
Valve released Arabesque and Spy Tech alongside Season 5 on July 9, 2026. Each collection carries 17 skins and follows the same Armory structure as past seasons, with one difference: both collections shipped with two Covert-tier skins instead of the usual one per collection.
That means four Coverts entered the market simultaneously: the AWP | Sovereign Flame and AK-47 | Consequence of the Jinn from Arabesque, plus the AK-47 | AUTOEXEC and Glock-18 | Ghost Protocol from Spy Tech. Two separate AK-47 Coverts in the same season is unusual. So is the four-Covert total.

Prices are at their ceiling right now
Armory skins carry a seven-day trade lock after being received. The first batch, pulled on launch day July 9, became tradable on July 16. That is yesterday. The listings hitting the Steam Community Market right now are the first to reach buyers, and they are priced accordingly.

These are peak prices for a reason. Supply is thin because only one week of drops has unlocked. Sellers listing now price from scarcity, not equilibrium. SteamAnalyst's pattern tracking for past Armory collections shows Covert prices drop 40 to 60 percent in the first month after launch. Waiting two to four weeks puts the realistic buy window somewhere between July 23 and August 6.
Why the double-covert structure pushes prices lower than usual
Normal Armory seasons create one Covert per collection, so buyers compete for a single premium skin. This season creates four simultaneously, including two AK-47 Coverts appealing to roughly the same set of buyers.
That competition matters because both AKs are priced almost identically at Factory New right now ($887 vs $891), which means neither has emerged as the obvious choice yet. Buyers choosing between them will split demand. Supply from both collections accumulates in parallel each week as more players pull from the Armory. The downward price pressure is roughly double what a single-Covert season produces.
The Field-Tested AWP | Sovereign Flame at $140 is where the practical interest sits. The $747 gap between FT and FN is far wider than float value justifies on most finishes, and FT prices will fall faster as supply builds.
Do not pull for Coverts through the Armory
Each Armory pull costs 4 Stars and returns a random skin from the full 17-item pool. The Covert drop rate is approximately 0.64 percent per pull, per collection data on CS.MONEY. Hitting a Covert on average takes around 156 pulls, which totals 624 Stars. Stars are earned through XP from playing and carry real opportunity cost: 25 Stars also unlocks the current limited edition Armory item each season.
You can buy the AK-47 | Consequence of the Jinn Field-Tested directly for $146 today, and likely less in two weeks. Targeting it through Armory pulls is not a viable strategy.

What to actually do
If you want a Covert from either collection, set a price alert and revisit around July 30. Supply will be healthier, prices will be lower, and you will know by then which of the two AK-47 Coverts the community actually prefers. Right now that contest is a coin flip.
If you want a skin for in-game use rather than as an investment, Field-Tested condition is the practical tier. The $140 FT AWP Sovereign Flame looks nearly identical to the $887 FN version in a match. Float values are not visible to your opponents.
For Restricted and Mil-Spec skins from both collections, the price floor is arriving sooner. Those tiers benefit less from early hype and the sell-off is faster. If you are after a budget option in either collection, this week or next is reasonable.
One genuine wildcard: BLAST Bounty Season 2 starts July 21, four days from now. If a prominent player picks up the AK-47 | AUTOEXEC or the AWP | Sovereign Flame during a broadcast match, price can move in either direction quickly.
